subway-eatfresh Karma is something that I have given some thought to in the past, but the word is so cliché. I have preferred to think the universe is in balance and that events in our life will balance out. However, After the other day I am beginning to think karma might exist.

So, I am at work on Tuesday and my co-worker’s wife had his car and he was wondering what I was doing for lunch. I told him Subway and he gave me $20 to pick him up a sandwich. I drove to the Subway store and got his sandwich and mine. I pay separately and just stuck the change from his $6.52 sandwich in my pocket. I paid for mine and put the change in my other pocket.

I got back in my van and drove back to work. I went into his office, gave him the sandwich and pulled out his change. There was $3.48. I only got change for $10. I then drove back to the store and told the clerk that I think I only got change for a $10. He gave me a $10 with no problem. I thanked him and left the store.

On my out the store I looked down on the ground and there was a folded up $10 bill. I picked it up and took the clerk his $10 back and told him I had found one on the ground and couldn’t be sure if it was mine or not. He just looked stunned and I left.

The odd thing was that the $10 Dollar bill on the ground was folded and crumpled. I would have noticed that if I had gotten it as change.

I felt good about it and went on with the rest of my day. That night I went to my Mom’s house and finished putting some of her furniture together. It was hot and the we decided to get the girls some ice cream on the way back. We stopped at the McDonalds drive thru and ordered $11 worth of McFlurries and Dots.

When we got to the window, my wife paid with a $20 and the lady gave us $19 in change and a guy tried to give us 2 Ice Cream cones. We told him that we didn’t order any cones and that we had gotten too much change. The lady said, "Oh, they must have pulled out without paying. You paid for their cones so I will comp yours" The car in front of us at the other window was trying to pay at the wrong window. We asked if she was sure and she said "yea" I already cleared it.

So, we got $10 worth of free Ice cream. I am not sure if that was karma, but if I had to give an example of it, I would use this story.
